About Tocco Finale

The Finishing Touch That Completes the Journey

Tocco Finale means “the finishing touch” in Italian — a name chosen to reflect both the beauty of completion and the influence of Renaissance masters like Michelangelo and da Vinci. At the intersection of surgical precision and artistic mastery, Tocco Finale was founded to provide women with a final, powerful step in breast reconstruction: realistic, beautiful nipple and areolar restoration.

Our Philosophy:

We believe that breast reconstruction is not just a physical process; it carries a huge emotional component. Nipple areolar tattooing is the smallest part of breast reconstruction, and others often treat it as an afterthought. We do not. We apply immense focus, attention, and preparation into this final step, which assures the best cosmetic result and restores a sense of self and confidence.

Dr. Michael Beckenstein, MD

Plastic Surgeon, Founder

Dr. Beckenstein is a double-boarded plastic and general surgeon who has, for over 30 years, specialized in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast. He has intricate knowledge of breast anatomy and breast aesthetics, including that of the nipple areola.

Not only is this expertise important in locating the nipple areolar complex to make the optimal aesthetic breast, the colors, contour, and shading also create the most natural-appearing breasts. He possesses all the qualities that you would want to perform your nipple tattooing. It is quite common for his patients to provide feedback that when others saw their reconstructed breasts, they couldn’t believe they had a mastectomy!

Dr. Beckenstein obtained expertise in this field by completing fellowships with world-renowned breast surgeons, including two of the pioneers of modern breast reconstruction. Through the years, he has developed his own techniques of nipple areolar tattooing.

Michael S. Beckenstein, M.D., has performed thousands of breast reconstructions and nipple areolar tattoos. He always seeks to improve his results, which included inviting Andrea Darby, a micropigmentation expert from Australia, to help him further master his craft. He always states, “The day I am satisfied with my results is the day I need to retire!”

Genger Ferrell, SFA, CST

Surgical First Assistant & Micropigmentation Artist

Genger has 30 years of experience in the field of plastic surgery. She has partnered with Dr. Beckenstein as his surgical first assistant and clinical coordinator for the past 25 years. Together, they perform over 500 breast cases each year, imparting her expertise in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.
Genger is certified by the American Academy of Micropigmentation and has been certified by three different micropigmentation artists. This includes Andrea Darby from Australia, who is world-renowned for nipple areolar tattooing. This incredible surgical experience has given her the ability to constantly evaluate and appreciate the intricate anatomy of the nipple areola.

Combining this with her training and performance of hundreds of micropigmentation procedures makes her a true expert in this field. It is safe to say there is not another individual offering these services with this level of expertise.

Genger is constantly improving her technique and is often seen doodling during meetings—which is forgivable, as she is drawing 3D nipple areolae!
